Fontaine
Marcousse
Winery
A.O.C.
Saint-Chinian
The raw ingredients of the finest wines are the vines
that are used, the soil in which they are grown and the microclimate of the wine-growing region. But,
ultimately, it is the men and women who work with these raw
ingredients - and through knowledge, expertise, passion and love of
winemaking - create an exceptional wine.
The
Winery
Fontaine Marcousse winery is located in the southern
portion of the Saint Chinian appellation in the heart of the garrigue.
The garrigue, a scrubland with excellent soil composition for wine
growing, is found in the
back-country of Languedoc, France, between the Black Mountains and the
Mediterranean. This area benefits from a 'micro-climat' and maximum
days of sunshine per year. This exceptional wine growing region has been producing
wine for more than a millennium.

The
Cellar
For us, the heart of the winery – of Fontaine
Marcousse – is the wine cellar. Having studied his craft at the school of œnology in Bordeaux, France, Luc Robert continues to meld the knowledge of
French traditional winemaking with modern innovative techniques and the
results are our exceptional wines. Every detail is carefully
scrutinized, including the selection of the type of oak to be used in our
wine barrels.
